“Refused to let efficiency erase their humanity”, wow. Feels more relevant than ever. Lately I’ve been noticing how often I rush to make things “faster” when what I really need is to sit with them longer. Not everything needs to be optimized.
I love that reframing so much - optimization is the biggest barrier to creativity. At Daydreamers we like to say that we need to give ourselves more "space around the edges" :) That's where our creative health thrives! Thanks for sharing 🫶🏽
I’ve been thinking about critical thinking a lot lately as well! I agree that it is hard to come by. Something in the polarization and lack of perceived time that has everyone afraid to be open to even exploring ideas. Nuance and discernment come in to play. I think the way forward will require MORE creativity from everyone, in whatever ways they are prone. I’ve had people tell me that creativity is not productive to this moment in time. Obviously I disagree… I think it’s our most powerful tool as humans!
YES!! Could not agree with this more. How much would shift in our world if we saw all components of our creativity (the incubation, the play, the nuance) as "productive"?! Excited for all of us to keep pushing back on that ingrained belief system together :)
